“This is a collection of 28 photographs all taken during a short, 10-day trip to my home town in the Bay Area. Boomer is my parents’ dog, but when I’m home to visit, he is my dog by proxy. The places that Boomer and I went to are all locations I frequented throughout my childhood. I remember things that Boomer does not. Boomer does not remember catching the school janitor smoking pot in the woods behind our middle school; me, I do. Boomer doesn’t remember getting ticks all over his legs from sledding down the damp hillside by the water tower, but I do. It’s a funny dynamic walking around these spots - brain full, head empty. The heart aches at the sight of one’s youth. Sometimes, it’s nice just to have a co-pilot who could care less. I like that about Boomer.”
